The two plays are the culmination of the 8th season of Faith Center for the Arts’ Musical Theater Camp, which is held in Morris County this year. Derek Roland returns to direct the senior high production of My Fair Lady. Roland’s credits include National Tours of Kiss Me Kate, Showboat, Cinderella, and West Side Story.

“Our Camp creates opportunities for students not only to develop their skills through classes and rehearsals, but also to ‘raise the bar’ of their talent by working with top professionals in the field, and experiment with new ideas and techniques, in a safe and supportive environment,” notes Executive Director Bill Briggs.

Last year’s Musical Theater Camp production of Guys and Dolls captured audiences, in no small part to Anna Hill’s and Kyle Penny portrayal of Adelaide and Nathan Detroit. This year, their impeccable comedic timing returns in their performances as Henry Higgins and Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady.

Faith Center for the Arts’ students have gone on to achieve accolades in colleges and universities across the country, as well as internationally in London, Hong Kong, and Italy.

Elizabeth Southard, who has performed extensively in musical theater on Broadway and in National Tours, most notably as Christine in The Phantom of the Opera, is also returning as our Master Class Director.  Last year, her audition workshop and master classes were student favorites.

Briggs commented, “In addition, this year, we’re honored to have Danny Gardner and Mark Lonergan as our guest artists. The students are looking forward to their presentation and q&a, as well as their physical comedy workshop.” Gardner has performed on Broadway and toured with Broadway productions in such shows as Dames at Sea, White Christmas, and 42nd Street. Lonergan is a New York-based director/creator and the Artistic Director of Parallel Exit, a three-time Drama Desk Award nominee for Unique Theatrical Experience.
